Biography
Rob Fordham, also known by his artistic moniker Handpandemonium, is a UK-based handpan artist and musician whose work blends the organic beauty of harmonic percussion with the expansive, atmospheric textures of synthetic pads. With a deep passion for crafting emotive soundscapes, Rob draws from a wide spectrum of influences, infusing his performances with a mixture of acoustic and electronic elements that transport listeners to otherworldly realms!
After many years playing drums in mostly rock bands, moving to the beautiful countryside of Avebury in Wiltshire gave Rob a new dimension on percussion and reflection on life. Inspired by the significant spiriutal surrounds of the neolithic stones, and after experiencing impressive sound baths, this gave Rob a new direction to follow. After starting his own sound baths, the purchase of a handpan seemed a natural complement to the gongs. However, he soon realised his passion and future lay in the playing of the handpans and creating pieces in a perhaps slightly different format to the more traditional playing style. The tracks cross over into rock at times and the artistic name Handpandemonium seemed a perfect word to reflect that!
A little taster of some eastern promise!
